Cochrane Minor Hockey Association - 2025-2026 Registration Information

Member Obligation: Review CMH Registration Policy and Refund Policy

 

Volunteer Bond Policy Purpose:

Encouraging members to be actively involved in the Association's success. A volunteer bond will be charged if no volunteer position is selected during registration. Insert link to new Policy (Bobbi)

Program Registration Definitions and Fee guides: 

    • AA/AAA - BVTW/Jr Chaos Female -  participate in the AEHL AA/AAA teams, receive 2 practices a week and typically play 2 games every weekend. The U11AA division participates in the HA AEHL U11 AA they receive 2 practice per week and 1- 2 games per weekend.
    • All Cochrane Minor Hockey in boundary players must still register for a REP division package if they are trying out for AA/AAA programs. AA/AAA tryouts registrations received that do not have REP division package registration will be removed. AA/AAA Program fees are added once rosters have been finalized. 

 

  • The parameters on access to players for U13AAA is: Players who were last registered with an association that hosts a U13 AAA team must try out in that association or apply for Elite Hockey Player Movement. (ie: a player registered with Bonnyville must try out for Bonnyville at U13 AAA).

 

  • Players whose last registered association does not host a U13 AAA team, they may try out for a team within close proximity that will accept them. (ie: a player registered with Taber can with a neighboring Association that will accept them for U13 AAA)

Import players are required to register for tryout only, the 2025-2026 season registration is required to be completed with your local minor hockey association.

  • RHL MIXED - these divisions participate in the Rockies Hockey League which has minimal travel. Please visit the league website to review the associations included in this league. RHL teams receive 1 practice per week and typically 1 game per weekend.
  • REP MIXED - these divisions participate in the Central Alberta Hockey League Please visit the league website to review the associations included in this league. REP teams receive 2 practices per week and 1 - 2 games per weekend. 
  • FEMALE REP - these divisions participate in the Rocky Mountain Female Hockey League Please visit the league website to review the associations included in this league. Female teams receive 2 practices per week and 1 - 2 games per weekend. Female REP fees are the same as  Mixed REP fees. Each team may have dryland training each week but this is not covered in the CMH REP fees. 
  • INTRO TO HOCKEY - U7 - U7 receive 2 - 3 development sessions each week. Every Saturday and Sunday morning they will be assigned ice times with the exception of a couple of weekends and 1 development session that is rotated between the eight teams throughout the season. CMHA follows the Intro to Hockey model set out by Hockey Alberta Intro to Hockey | Hockey Alberta. We do allocate 1 of the 8 teams to be all female but once the female team registration is full, females registering will be placed on a mixed U7 team.
  • INTRO TO HOCKEY - U9 - receive 1 weekly ice time and 2 weekend ice times, CMHA follows the Intro to Hockey plan set out by Hockey Alberta  Intro to Hockey | Hockey Alberta. We do allocate 2 of the 10 teams to be all female but once the female teams registration is full, females registering will be placed on a mixed U9 team.
  • U7-U9-U11-U13 - MINI THNI - CMHA Allocates 1 team per listed division for all Mini Thni registrations. Teams all receive program standards listed above. U9 -U11-U13 Mini Thni participate in the RHL League U7 is part of the Intro to Hockey Program

When selecting a registration package, ensure you've reviewed the offered programs above in the fee guides. Registering for REP or Female does not guarantee a roster spot in those programs; transitions depend on registrations received. Players that do not secure a roster spot on a REP or Female team will transition to RHL divisions, refunds for the fee difference will be processed in a timely manner. 

Players that withdraw from REP Evaluations will incur a Program change fee of $150. REP evaluations aren't intended as extra prep sessions for RHL- bound players. 

ELIGIBILITY TO REGISTER - you must be a member in good standing. 

Registration Period:

  • June 1st - June 15th: Returning players from 2024-2025 guaranteed a spot. This includes players that were part of higher level teams in other host Associations. i.e. Xtreme, Bisons, Female AA
  • June 16th - July 31st: Registration opens for new players within CMH boundaries.
  • After July 1st, we will review out-of-boundary new-to-CMHA registrations individually for divisions with available space.

Installment procedures -  final installment (Due by October 1):

  • Initial Date of Registration - first installment is processed
  • July 1st - 1st  installment will process automatically
  • August 1st - 2nd  installment will process automatically
  • September 1st - 3rd installment will process automatically
  • October 1st - 4th and final installment will process automatically
  • To participate in the Installment process you must register with a valid credit card
  • Registration with outstanding balances after October 1st will result in players being ineligible to participate with their team and may be removed.
  • If a longer installment plan is required please email the Administrator, requests for extended payment periods will be reviewed by the Finance Director and Administrator and submitted to the board for approval. 

Late Payment Fee:

  • There is a late payment fee of $50.00 for each installment if not processed on time which will be added as an admin fee to your RAMP account.
  • Members are responsible for updating credit card information in their RAMP account for any changes. CMH office staff do not have access to update your credit card information.

Credit Card Requirement:

  • Registrations will not be accepted off line.
  • All registrations must be completed through Player Ramp Registration and require payment at the time of registration—no exceptions. If you are applying for funding, the approved amount will be refunded once funding has been received.
  • Any requests for installment extensions must be approved by our Finance Director.
  • Members must ensure a valid credit card is on file at all times via the member RAMP account.
  • A valid Credit card or Visa Debit is required for ALL registrations
  • If you opt to pay in full via e-transfer, rest assured that upon receipt of the payment by the CMH administrator, you will promptly receive a unique code enabling you to finalize the registration process and complete the online registration.

Late Registration:

  • A Late Registration Fee of $250 will apply to any program registrations completed after July 31st.

  • Late registrants are not guaranteed a spot in the program.

  • AA/AAA Tryout Registrations submitted after July 31st will also incur a $250 late fee.

  • AA/AAA tryout registrations will close 14 days prior to tryout Camp start date.

  • Pre-Season Camp Registrations completed after July 31st will be subject to a $50 late fee.

Changes and Confirmations:

  • Changes in program selection or player's position after September 1st, 2025, may incur a $150 Program change fee.
  • Please note on your pricing details the Admin fee is referring to Credit Card fee CMHA charges.

Refund Policy:

  • Before September 1st: 100% refund less $75 processing fee.
  • After September 1st: 75% refund less $75 processing fee.
  • No refund after team assignment.
