Cochrane Minor Hockey Association: A Brief Overview

The Cochrane Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) administers a minor hockey program for residents in the boundary outline by Hockey Alberta https://cloud.rampinteractive.com/cochranemha/files/cochraneminorhockeymap_2.pdf. The current CMHA hockey program consists of:

  • High-Performance Level AA "South Central Alberta Hockey League

  • Community Level REP "Central Alberta Hockey League" Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4, Tier 5

  • Community Level RHL "Rockies Hockey League" A, B, C

The program exists for players from 5 years - 18 years of age. CMHA has formulated a constitution and registered it with Hockey Alberta, and the Government of Alberta under the societies act.

CMHA has a working partnership with the Airdrie Cochrane Athletic Association (ACAA) to administer High-Performance Level of hockey 

The ACAA consists of the following hockey teams:

U15  AAA Xtreme

U16  AAA Avalanche

U16  AA "new this season name TBD"

U18 AAA Bisons.

The Cochrane Minor Hockey Association Executive Committee and Board of Directors is elected by the general membership at the Annual General Meeting and respond to the needs of the membership. Part of the mandate the Executive Committee is to administer conduct management guidelines for all participants in the hockey program.

This Conduct Management Plan is for all members of the association. With this program CMHA wants to address the fundamental values of the game:

  • Shared Respect for all participants of the game.

  • Development of the players, coaches, and officials involved in the game.

  • Fun while participating in the game.
